Sandy and Tom are an artist and design team specializing in embroidery textile mediums.

They were taught the art of European Broderie Design and Technology by the Czechs and the Swiss who set up embroidery in Australia.
The Powerhouse Museum has one of Sandy and Tom’s early automated Jacquard machines, now superseded by electronic and, recently, computerized machines.

Sandy and Tom are exploring their medium in art and up-cycling their wastage into artisan products.

Their body of work includes George Lucas’
Star Wars, Andrew Lloyd Weber’s Phantom
of the Opera
, various fashion houses and
the mitre of Pope Benedict XVI.
